Distribution: Northern Australia from Broome in the west up into the Cape York Peninsula.

Habitat: Open grasslands interspersed by lightly timbered areas, and Pandanus Palms.

Aviary Habits: One of the most well-known and easier to keep Finches, loves to bathe, sociable towards other species.
