Other names: Rainbow Finch, Desert Parrot Finch, Lady Gould Finch

Distribution: Northern Australia extending from Derby in the west, across into western central Cape York Peninsula.

Habitat: Open grass plains and escarpments around waterholes and clumps of trees.

Aviary Habits: Without any doubt the jewel in the crown, now bred in a variety of colours. Still not considered a beginners bird, does not like cold damp or draughts. A peaceful bird with others.
